ANTI-SONROER VIR N BOER

(Product summary) A non-sticky, non-greasy, non-oily, fast absorbing, and light-weight mineral sunblock, which is water & sweat resistant and does not burn your eyes.

This formulation is one of dermain skin’s most sentimental products as it was inspired by Domain’s Pa, Henk, who is a Boer that refused to wear sunscreen due to the negative sensory effects when it came in contact with his skin. After a lot of research, it was found to be the reason for many people who spend their day out in the sun. This includes golfers, construction workers, athletes, fishers, holiday -and festival goers, police officers and many more.

Continuing with her constant efforts to support South African farmers, Domain uses dermain skin as a platform to extend these efforts by donating R20 of every bottle sold to a non-profit organization that supports a Boer in need.

SCIENTIFICALLY HONEST

Active ingredients: zinc oxide & titanium dioxide do not penetrate the skin. Instead, they sit on top of the skin to form a physical blocker that blocks the skin from UVA & UVB rays (this is why it’s called sunBLOCK and not sunSCREEN).

Powerful humectants & occlusives: pull and keep water in the skin, leaving skin hydrated & moisturised without any greasy or white cast.

Antioxidants: Vit A, C and E neutralise free radicals.

SUITABLE SKIN TYPE(S)

Gender neutral. Suitable for sensitive skin, children’s skin of 6 months and older, pregnant and/or nursing women’s skin. NOTE: If you have oily and/or acne-prone skin, breakouts may occur due to clogged pores as a result of the combination of your natural oil production & using our mineral cream-based sunblock. Ensure to properly wash the sunblock off at night or mix with a gel sunscreen during the day.

APPLICATION

WHEN? EVERYDAY. SPF 50 generally provides UV protection for up to 2 hours. Apply at least 15 minutes before you go into direct sunlight. Apply regularly during the day when exposed to the sun, water, or sweat.

HOW MUCH? Apply a shot glass amount to every body part exposed to the sun. This includes your face (including your ears & neck), chest, arms, legs, and shoulders (if exposed to sun).

Domain’s Boer Remedy: EVERYONE MUST WEAR SUNBLOCK EVERYDAY REGARDLESS OF YOUR OCCUPATION OR GENDER.

For a Boer specifically: apply an extra amount of sunblock on your right arm that’s always sticking out of the bakkie’s window.

HYDRA CLEANSER

A double cleansing & hydrating cleanser formulated to attract, lock and retain moisture in the outer skin layer of your skin.

SCIENTIFICALLY HONEST

An oil & water double emollient cleanser formulated with powerful humectants, naturally derived with coconut oil, rose aetheroleum, and aloe vera.

With cleansing oils that remove sunblock and excess sebum, and aqua milk that removes sweat, dead skin cells and pollutants, working together for a non-drying, non-irritating and thorough cleanse.

Emulsifying wax, White soft parrafin BP, Mineral oil light, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Methyl parahydroxybenzoate, Propyl parahydroxybenzoate, Purified water, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil, Rosa damascene (rose) and Rosa centifolia essential oil, Vitis vinifera (grapeseed) oil, Vanilla Oleoresin.

SUITABLE SKIN TYPE(S)

Gender neutral. Suitable for most skin types due to the cleansing effect on saturated sebaceous glands. NOTE:  If you have oily and/or acne prone skin and you experience breakouts, we recommend switching to our foaming cleanser instead (coming soon).

APPLICATION

WHEN? Mornings and evenings.

HOW? Apply a 2-finger scoop to damp skin and massage into the face, neck, and décolletage. Wash with hands or silicone scrubber (recommended). Leave on for at least 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Our HYDRA CLEANSER can also be used as a makeup remover. Follow same method as above.

Domain’s Boer Remedy: combine with an equal amount of raw mieliepap for an excellent physical exfoliator.

HYDRA DETOX

A detoxifying & hydrating cleanser formulated to remove excess sebum (oil), impurities and dirt from the skin, while improving skin texture and appearance.

SCIENTIFICALLY HONEST

A gritty detoxifying cleanser formulated with a natural and gentle exfoliating agent namely, activated charcoal.

Mechanism of action:

• Reduces the appearance of pore size: removes dead skin cells by binding to bacteria and toxins.
• Reduces whiteheads, blackheads, and acne: absorbs excess oil in the dissolved liquid phase via direct contact. It also removes dirt and impurities that are embedded deep inside the epidermis that can’t be removed using other traditional skincare products.
• Prevents blemishes & breakouts: this formula aids in reducing your bacterial skin count and balances your skin’s pH which decreases blemishes skin’s and breakouts.

Gender neutral. Due to activated charcoal’s inert nature and highly absorbent qualities, this cleanser is suitable for all skin types, especially oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin. Additionally, due to its gentle exfoliation nature and anti-bacterial properties, this cleanser is great for soothing eczema and psoriasis.

APPLICATION

WHEN? 1 – 2 times a week

HOW? Cleanse skin with HYDRA CLEANSER. Then, apply a thick layer of the HYDRA DETOX over your face and neck. Leave for approximately 15 minutes, wash, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a clean towel.

Domain’s Boer Remedy: combine 2 tablespoons of HYDRA DETOX with 1 teaspoon of baking soda for an activated charcoal facemask. Apply to face and wash off after 20 minutes. Tip: Because baking soda can be harsh on sensitive skin, test on a small area of your body first.

HYDRA DROPS

A hydrating gooey liquid with powerful humectants and lightweight emollients, for deeper hydration, firmer -and brighter skin.

SCIENTIFICALLY HONEST

Our HYDRA DROPS are the jack of all trades. It is an oil and aqua emulsification formulated with powerful humectants, naturally derived with grapeseed oil, rose aetheroleum, and aloe vera. It is an extremely hydrating and lightweight serum. In addition to its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, these drops also aid in balancing the skin’s pH, hyperpigmentation and prevent breakouts.

Propane-1,2,3-triol (Glycerine),  Vitis vinifera (grapeseed) oil, Aloe barbadensis miller (Aloe vera) gel, Glycosaminoglycan (Hyaluronic acid) serum, Rosa damascene (rose) and Rosa centifolia essential oil, Vanilla Oleoresin.

WHEN? Whenever your skin feels dull, dry and dehydrated. Suitable for daily use.

HOW? Apply 1 pump/drop to clean and damp skin and massage into the face for approximately 5 minutes. Leave on for no more than 24 hours.

TANNING BUTTER

SKIN SYNECDOCHE. Inspired by the Byron Kim’s most famous painting, Synecdoche, this hydration-rich and creamy butter-based body moisturiser with an added SPF of 15 serve as a novel alternative to the usual tanning oils.

This nutritious and delicious butter melts upon contact with your skin, absorbs quickly, and is extremely hydrating and moisturising, with added SPF to protect your from the sun, while you’re out sunbathing. Furthermore, this tanning butter also provides a dose of antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids to keep your skin healthy and glowing during summer.

APPLICATION

WHEN? During your sunbathing session.

HOW? Take a scoop of the tanning butter and spread evenly over the desired areas. Reapply every two to four hours, or more frequently if you are sweating or if you dipped in water.
